Fireworks Galore…

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I absolutely love fireworks – I can’t get enough of them. My poor husband faithfully goes with me while I try to capture that one perfect image of the night – unless he can find a friend to go with me instead! This year was a bumper crop of firework displays with over five…

Welcome Sweet Little Baby A… (Bartlett TN Children’s Photographer)

This little cutie was so sweet the morning we “played” together! She was wide eyed most of the time, except for about five minutes when we were able to capture some sleeping baby images. She didn’t cry though, mostly just looked around with the biggest blue eyes and stretched her little legs. Thank you, mom, for letting me photograph your precious baby!

Maternity… Waiting on #3

Isn’t it funny that when we’re pregnant with our first child, we take photos during the entire 9 months to document this wonderous event. Then when the second one comes along, we get some photos of our growing belly, especially with the older sibling kissing the new baby. But when number three is on the way, we’re doing good just to get our hair…

The Lost Bird…

After my granddaughter received a plastic parakeet for Christmas, we started imagining a photo shoot centered around the little bird. It was originally going to be about a “princess”.  She insisted it was a princess not just a little girl – a big difference to a 9 year old who finds a lost bird in the woods in winter. She put it in a…

Whatever their name tulip magnolias signal spring is near…

The first sign of spring in my yard is my tulip magnolia. The blooms are a deep purplish pink and remind me of origami. After searching the name of this tree that sits at the corner of my house, I discovered it was called “Little Girl Magnolia” and they come in a variety of colors and names – Betty, Ann, Susan, and Jane. Whatever…

Solitude in the Sierras…

The Sierra Nevada Mountains in the fall showcase such brilliant, bright colors, especially the yellows in the aspens. I came across this creek while photographing in the eastern Sierra Nevadas and it was so peaceful looking. I love the bright yellows against the dark greens of the pines and the reflection in the water.

The Little Cowboy…

This little cowboy was so excited to visit the barn and see the horses. He had everything he needed to look like a real-live cowboy…a flannel shirt, a pair of boots, and a real cowboy hat! The only thing he was lacking was a little bit of courage. You see this cowboy had never been this close to a horse before, and this horse…

Rolling on the River…

The Mississippi River is an awesome backdrop for a photography session – especially in the afternoon with the soft golden glow of the setting sun washing over everything. This family was so much fun to be with. The brother and sister truly love each other and absolutely adore their mom! When we headed downtown to the river, we knew exactly what the mom…

Maras Family

Meet The Maras Family!

2013 Bartlett Small Fry Tri

Of all the events I have the privilege of photographing for the Bartlett Recreation Center I have to say the Small Fry Tri probably is my most favorite. These little athletes range in ages from 2 years to 6 years and compete in individual age groups. They run and bike and “swim” as hard as they possibly can. Some are a little timid racing…

2013 Bartleltt Kids’ Triathlon

This is about my third year photographing the Bartlett Kids’ Triathlon for the Bartlett Recreation Center. These young athletes swim, bike, and run as hard and as fast as they can to take home the first place medal. Their ages range from 7 years through senior in high school and they compete in their own age groups. Bartlett High School and Bolton High School…

Spirit of Soul 2013 Kingsport

Dance Band Swings At Kingsport TN FunFest

It was so much fun documenting the main attraction at the Kingsport TN FunFest. The Spirit of Soul Dance Band’s 70s & 80s music mixed with R&B and Beach music made it very difficult to keep my camera focused and move my body at the same time. When they started playing you just had to clap, snap, and move. The vocals were amazing and…

Another Beautiful You …with an English Beauty

My young friend from England visited recently and wanted Beautiful You images of herself. She’s a photographer too, so she was already into posing before I even asked her to turn her head, twist at the waist, and all those other “torturous” things! We has so much fun applying makeup and curling hair and making gorgeous images!

Beautiful You…and Gorgeous Too!

A “Beautiful You” session reminds me of playing Barbies because I want the models to twist at the waist, turn their head 180˚, pull their chin out and down, twist their shoulder to the front, and smile – all at the same time! (I did ask one model if she could spin her head around like the girl in the Exorcist!) A bonus to…

The Ghost of Bodie…

The little mining town of Bodie, California began life in 1859 during the Gold Rush fever when a couple of prospectors found gold. Twenty years later it was one of the largest boom towns in California. Mining companies came in and built stamp mills that pounded the ore to remove the precious metals. At it s peak almost 10,000 people resided in Bodie with…

Cowgirls, bonfires and hayrides…

For her 8th birthday this little cowgirl wanted a birthday party complete with a hayride and bonfire. The photos tell the story.

My Modern Day Little Miss Muffet…

Dressing up for Halloween comes naturally to this little drama queen. Her costume was a Pop Star Diva Vampire, but she ditched the teeth when she realized she couldn’t eat candy with them in! Here is her version of the modern day “Little Miss Muffet” and the spider. She is way too funny!
